I have a friend who got the remote and he says it's been a total PITA.
Can I get some pros and cons from those in the know?

Set up is a bitch. The GP software won't recognize devices. I spent hours getting it done. Hard to read screens as usual. Seems to work OK. The app to control multiple cameras was not available yet.

I like it. The only downside i see is that the battery for both the bacpac and remote control is built in. So, when the batteries run down after about 2 hours, no option to insert a fresh battery. When the bacpac battery runs down, it will use juice fromt he camera battery. But, knowing the time constraint, I still like it.

Really want the remote but i gonna wait until go pro fixes the bugs. I think they rushed this product. I'll wait until they get it right.

i spent what seemed like forever trying to get the darn thing to work. once a gopro tech got back to me it was about a 30-45 minute set up and i like it now. the battery sucks but i only turn it on when i am hooked up anyway.

i would rate at a 7/10 overall.

That's good know about the remote. What ends up being the problem?
I'm about to make a Gopro purchase and was also thinking about shelling out the extra $100 for the remote.  Maybe I'll wait....
