Launched in Noyo yesterday at about 0830 and there were already boats heading in...a good sign.   We found the fleet and dropped gear in about 240 feet of water off of Caspar.  We had a few hits right away but nothing would stick.  A few hits later Capt. Ron landed a nice 13# unit...one in the box.  It was slow for a bit and then a long stream of snatched bait, but no fish.  Jelly finally boated a little bbq rat at around 1030 and then Ron boated a nice 20+ # hog after that...then more snatching and a couple of coho over the next few hours.  I finally got one, a decent fish around 12#s...but now we had gone through 2 trays of anchovies and were out of bait.  DOH!

I pinned on a Little Cleo that a commercial guy had recommended some time back...what the heck.  Dropped another rod with an Apex.  About 25 minutes later Jelly hooked up on the Cleo.  We called it good with 5 fish...WAF meter was running low (baja, stripers, and salmon in the same week  :smt003) and it was getting late.  Off the water at around 430.  Not as fast as we had wanted but still a pretty decent day.  Not sure why the hook ups were so piss poor but they were, coulda been done at noon other wise.

The little Cleo that worked...

Jelly with dinner...

BTW...tons of coho out there was be careful.  We saw coho jumping all day and had several to the boat.  Warden McKiver of Coastside fame was at the dock looking for silvers.

Also...The fleet that has been at Caspar all week is within EASY paddling range.  We were only about 4-500 yards outside the cove...If the weather holds go get em!  Low deck off and on so bring GPS!!!
