So I will be at Lake Tahoe this weekend with almost 100 kayakers gathering to paddle the Lake over the weekend. We will be camping at Meeks Bay resort and I plan on bringing fishing gear. If you are in the area stop by and say hello, or if you have any info about fishing meeks bay that would be great.

p-line jigs look similar to crippled herring..i like them because they are cheap and colorful.  any 3 oz slab side jig will work, glow in the dark is best.  you should try to bring a minnow trap and catch some minnows to tip the jig with...thats what i always do.

not too many snags to worry about in tahoe when fishing deep, so two or three should be more than enough unless you're breaking off on fish..they sell the jigs at fisherman's warehouse in sacramento, which is probably on your way up.

i'll try to get on my computer and send you some gps #s tonight, but you will probably want a fishfinder if you got it..my spots are 300'+ of water with underwater humps that come up to 200' or so..the fish congregate around the tops of the humps, and if you don't have a FF you'll be fishing in who knows where.  the fishing is "xbox" fishing, see the fish on the finder, drop on them, 4-5 cranks of bottom and jig.

I will be bringing my fish finder for sure. I am going to call the campground and see how many cars can be at one spot and then see who is bringing cars from my group.

Sounds like fun. Our family stayed across the creek a few weeks ago. Didn't do much fishing, though. :smt011

Any best time for a meetup?

What's the group you're paddling with?

Tote its put on by the Headwaters kayak shop and Dan's Parents shop in Redding. Friday Afternoon is a demo day of Eddyline and Sterling Kayaks. Saturday is a paddle from Baldwin Beach to Emerald Bay. Sunday is a paddle out of Meeks Bay up the west side of Tahoe. Monday is a mixed day with people doing different paddles, such as the Truckee River.

I don't know an exact time that we will be fishing, I figure when there is down time I will be out there. I will see if Dan has any specifics and get back to you all.

So Dan was thinking that we will probably be fishing on Sunday Morning. I just don't know an exact time. Might sleep in a little.
