The health benefits of quitting alone should be a motivating factor for us smokers, not just the money we spend on it.  Money cannot buy health!

it is so hard to quit, i am doing it for my kids though i got winded last time i was up in the mountains hiking around and said to my self enough of that crap so i stop about a month ago, i did have a couple of dips though and chew gum at work, i also am switching to little to no soda and the ones i am having are diet, less empty calories, i just remind my self i lived for 20 years without smoking so i can do it again, also got to be a pain in the ass looking for the one style of cigars i smoked and going out side to smoke and not in the car, you can do what you want with your life but you are better off with out it and talk about saving money holly hell they are 6 bucks for a pack of 5 now im done with it thanks james

well being a person who has lung disease that was so serious I had a double lung transplant. I wouldn't want anyone going through what I did when I couldn't breathe. Back in 96 the operation was about 350,000 and plus my meds now. so look at those savings. Plus you wouldn't be a candidate until you were smoke free for 5 years. if you survive that long. I'm happy for your decision.

On a positive note, you can get completely over tobacco. I quit and don't crave it at all. People can smoke in my face and it has no effect. It will become a total non issue. It is not an endless fight brother. You will win.
So I'm packing my bags for the Misty Mountains, where the spirits go...........

You've inspired me! I quit today, took what I had left, dunked them in water, and threw them out.

Thank you for the inspiration to quit. No more sneaking away to smoke, I don't even really enjoy it.

Anyway, keep posting up your daily results and feelings and good luck!

Do you still smoke cigars? I'm guessing no.

My dad was claimed permantly by cigars, that alone should scare me straight.

James, fish with us tomorrow at BH. Maybe, that'll take some of the edge off.
