HMB today-Bird is the Word

On the water by 5:30am looking to get the skunks off. Nobody home on channel 69, in fact I couldnt see another boat. Few boats out there by dawn, but later one big squid boat ran right over a big bird pile, shutting it down, or so I thought. I worked hard to look for sign and stay in the action.  I was getting ready to move when I finally hit the target, WSB. After 20 or so minutes the invisible grey ghost finally rolled and revealed its white underbelly. Took the first gaff opp to the head and got it aboard. It was not well hooked so I was lucky. My first successful solo WSB attempt. 30.7 lbs according to the bait shop scale.
Did not see or hear of any others caught but they are out there. Bird is the word.
