Anyone has the old style AI sail same as mine in the pictures below?  My sail slipped off from the top while sailing at HMB yesterday and I am not sure what was there before the incidence.

we used to use the same thing in our windsurfer mast; but our Neilpride sails had a pin thru the top webbing that inserts into it.

is it a warranty issue? maybe you'll get another sail out of it.... :smt003

I am guessing there is an insert. My 2012 feels like it just tapers to the stirrup. Here us a pic

Thanks for the pictures Eric but I think yours is the new style like the one Scott has.

I am sure it is. I am guessing there is a top part on yours that has a similar slot for that strap. Did you happen to check or post on the Hobie board?

Not yet.  I was hoping that ChuckE knows the answer  :smt001

Just assembled my 2011 AI about a half hour ago.  The mast tip on mine looks like Eric's.  If there isn't a part available for yours, contact me and I could most likely fab one for you out of wood or plastic to fit your mast tip.  Feel free to contact me.

Thank you for your offer Bill.  If I don't hear from ChuckE soon, I'll try to post my pictures at the Hobie's forum to see if they can help me solve the case.

Thanks Ben.  I searched through the part list for the AI below but only see the Mast Swivel Tip (different part #) listed but no picture of the part.

Further researched I've found the part # you posted above but it's listed in the Tandem Island part list.  I will contact Hobie for the right part and order it.

I have a 2007 mast, and it has the same top as the pic of the 2012...

Sonny, here is what mine has.  It has that separate piece that plugs in that holds the sail.  Probably the same piece you lost.  Your picture looks like your mast is tapered but it might just be the way you held the camera.

Bingo!  Thank you very much Rey, I think that's the right one.  My mask is straight and not taper at the top.  Now that I know what I need, I will send the picture to Hobie to get the replacement part.
