This fish caught and released, 19lb. warthog, caught south of Point Sur.  Try to rod and reel this fish in!

Wow, how deep were you? Is that a cow cod?
May the fish be mighty and the seas be meek...

Hey this is not a cowcod, it is a dark-blotched, or possibly a shortraker, rockfish.

This fish was caught in 239 ft., eating spotted prawns.  Does anybody have any idea what a Bosco rockfish is?

According to "The Rockfish of the Northeast Pacific" by Love, Yoklavich and Thorsteinson, Bosco is a common name shared by greenspotted rockfish, greenblotched rockfish and pink rockfish.

As for whether it survived.... I highly doubt it.  A rockfish caught that deep will certianly suffer barotrauma.  In fact, the degree to which the eyes are cloudy in the photo is a good indicator of it having suffered barotrauma.
