Question to Prowler owners.

I have a Prowler15 and have made a couple of support blocks that fit the profile of the bottom about 3ft in from both ends. When on these supports the kayak sets straight up and can be worked on easily with out bending over any.
The kayak has been stored this way for over the winter months. My worry is that the middle has been un supported and I did not think of the possible sagging of the yak over time. I have since turned the yak over 180deg to allow the sag to reverse, if any. Assuming Prowlers are all made from molds of the same shape they should all be the same measurements.
I guess a good way to measure this would to pull a string tight over the top of the bow and stern while setting upright and measure the distance from the string down to the bottom of the inside deck at a known spot.
The local dealer (sport chalet) has their kayaks stored up high in the store and not available to compare measurements with. When I can determine the correct height of a center support to maintain the proper shape I will make one to conform to the proper height. Sooo are there any other obsessive compulsive types out there that can measure their Prowler so we can compare ?? Mine is 10 3/8" from the string down to the bottom of the cup holder.
I sure is amazing the things we can think of to do when it has been to cold and windy to go fishing!!

I don't think the tolerances involved in roto-molding are strict enough to be able to make a judgement on one kayak based on the measurements of another one.

If it is sagging then flipping it and sticking a space heater next to it should correct any malformation.
..........agarcia is just an ex-kayaker

OMG! do I have the right string? UM, while buying my yak Ocean Kayak said to store it on the end or upside down. They also said a kayak had a service life of 8000 total sun days.

That's only a little under 22 years of straight sunlight.

CHEERS!

Having seen the yaks at the ranch dissolve in the baja sun, I think it depends on where you are at. :smt003

I think it is 8000 hours of direct sunlight before there is degredation.
