Hey my Peeps,

What's the best Charting Card for coastal to plug into my new Hummibird GPS?

The Navionics Gold seems like a good one, but I'd rather not spend the $150 to find out.

The stock map it comes with barely got me back into Albion Cove with the fog!

Thanks for any advice/experience you have.

Isn't Navionics the only one that makes cards for Humminbird? They are all expensive anyway. The basic map if you know how to use it should get you home. Mine does.

Navionics now offer per state maps now for $99.00 but California is split norcal/socal so you're better off paying  the $150 for the entire west coast.

I just got the Navionics "Marine and Lakes USA" for Northern California.  It has many of the lakes I fish at, and it has three miles out of our Nor Cal coastline including Albion.  You buy the chip from a retailer for @99.00 and download the area that you want.  The downloading is a hassle, and the website isn't user friendly.  The Mapping is great.  I would recommend this if you do both freshwater and saltwater fishing.
