Hi Yakers:
I know you would rather be fishing but:
We need volunteers for…

Santa Cruz Harbor Kayak

Saturday, September 8th

Location: Kayak Connection at SC Harbor

413 Lake Avenue, #3

Santa Cruz, CA 95062

Time: 3-7pm

**Volunteers arrive at 3pm to prepare equipment, trip is from 4-7**

Our first kayaking trip of the season! This activity is one of our most popular and is not possible without volunteer help. The event and equipment are offered in conjunction with Kayak Connection.  Volunteers meet one hour before participants to help prepare the kayaks and gear. The role of a kayak volunteer with Shared Adventures is to pair up in a tandem kayak with a participant, or paddle a single kayak as a safety boat.  Different participants have various levels of paddling capabilities.  Therefore, volunteers must be capable paddlers and able to confidently steer the kayak. This is a great opportunity to give someone with special needs a new and exciting adventure! The more volunteer support we have, the more people we can accommodate.

Please contact us if you would like to volunteer for this activity.

Will this be your first time volunteering for a Shared Adventures kayaking event?  If so, please respond to this email with a description of your kayaking experience.

Ernie is a long-time volunteer for this benefit event.  He doesn't work for Kayak Connection. KC donates time and equipment.

I know this because half my family DOES work for Kayak Connection. Wife=Tour Guide and Daughter=Dock Rat.

Now is a good time for me to do so, considering there are brand-new owners of the KC.  I've been meaning to get over and introduce myself, highlight the burgeoning industry boost via kayak fishing.

they are so new, though, that I thought I'd give them a little time to get their feet under them.  So far they seem like very nice people, according to my wife and my daughter.

This is great !    Put my name down...    I'll gladly  bring a really stable kayak for handicapped use, if needed.
