For $130 you can get a MHX kit from Mudhole.com and it will outperform any foreign production rod under $150. build it yourself and you will have an all American product which you will be proud of. I've built several MHX kits and they are excellent rods, cast well and are very light.

The Teramar gets my vote.
I have the 8'6" xh and love it
on the long range boats, I have to beg the crew to get it back.
best jig rod ever and half the weight & diameter of the Calstar or Seeker

Sent from my phone cause I can ;-)

I'd go with a teramar or a seeker (the inshore series is very nice)

Thanks for the responses everyone. I ended up getting the okuma cedros inshore 8' XH rated to 4.5 oz. I also ordered the drag kit and power handle for the luna. Still deciding if the bearings should be upgraded. Thanks again for all the suggestions.
