Does any one have this kayak, if so how stable etc. is it.  i need a smaller yak for easy access and surf launch.
I was thinking of a prowler 13. vs this one?
anyone have any thoughts?

hey Ken walk accross the street to Aquan tell them what you need theyll point you in the right direction.

as far as the west marine pompano i looked at it one day and decided id wait till someone else trys it out then go from there. west marine wont let you demo so maybe call around and find one to demo first.
Where did he go george

That kayak is the same as the older Wilderness Tarpon 120. There are a lot of those in use around here. Perception and Wildrness are owned by the same company and Perception is building that yak now. Good boat with a different name.

I think we beat this particular topic to death on a different thread if memory serves me correct.  Maybe even this thread ... it's been a while.  Rob is correct in his statement.  Local and Chain shops both have their place in the kayaking community.  Chain stores need to produce volume sales to keep the manufacturers in business and prices low.  Local shops are there to provide the beginner to pro with more brand/model specific knowledge.

I have both an OK Trident 13 and a Pampano 120 that I share with my brother-in-law. I like them both for different reasons: prefer the T13 for stability and its ability to track well, like the Pampano for its lighter weight, speed, and maneuverability (I can get it on top of my SUV more easily). If I had to have only one, I'd probably choose the OK T13.

Thanks for the info,
How is the stability and tracking on the pampano.  I ride a hobie ai. Its great for stability, but it's a heavy son of a gun.  I wouldn't mind trading some of the stability and speed for something lighter and more maneuverable, but can still handle big wave days.
thanks for your advice.
