On the water by 6 am after a brief delay in Kingvale for chain control.  Was it ever cold!!!!

There was a slight chop on the water, cloudy, and a light snow fall.  Had the entire lake to myself from about 6-10 am.

A buddy and I trolled the majority of the day from the boat launch to the dam.  We used a dodger with a night crawler, grubs, and rapalas.  J-11 Rainbow Trout Rapala proved to be the hot ticket today.  Caught 10 fish and 8 of them were on the J-11 Rainbow Rapala. Lost 3 others that came unbuttoned.   No size on the fish but lots of action!!!

The amazing part of the day had to do with the weather pattern.  About every 15 minutes the weather would change.  The lake would go from glass and sunny, to 15 MPH winds and white caps, to heavy snowfall, then back to glass and sunny!  That happened throughout the day and I got caught in some very rough waters at times as things were so unpredictable.  The good news was that in 15 minutes or so the bad weather would pass and things would calm down again.

One boat came by and asked me what I was doing out there in those conditions.  I told him, "Same thing as you....looking for Monster Fish!"

That was the first time I've been in my Kayak when it was snowing and it was AWESOME.  Isn't it almost June?

how'd you keep your ass (or worse!) from freezing?

I don't think I'd like to sit in 45 degree water, wetsuit or no.

Amazingly enough, I didn't feel the cold when I was catching fish.  I only realized how cold it was when I stopped for whatever reason.

I don't seem to have the issues other have with their seat getting wet.  My seat stayed dry all day long.  All things consiered, I was able to stay pretty dry. I think the sun popping out ever so often helped a bunch.
