Hey guys Im going out the Santa Barbara this weekend to do some SCUBA diving at the Islands  :smt007. I've never been before so im supper stocked! I have SCUBA fins and a pair of picaso black team fins and wondering what I should bring. We are diving 5 or more times and Im wondering what that might do to me in freedive fins! Im bringing my spear gun too might just bring both fins and freedive some of the spots as well or the beaches around. Would like to bring less gear if thats possible  :smt044. Thanks for the advice!

The long fins might wear you out bro! No need for all the extra propulsion with tanks on. Speaking from experience. Have fun!

Kayaks are cool!

I don't SCUBA dive, but I've heard that a lot of SCUBA guys actually prefer freedive fins. The same principles and hydrodynamics apply to both. You'll kick more efficiently and effort less, and thus get more out of the dive. No straps or buckles to tangle on, either.

My fins tend to fold up from all the extra drag/weight. Shallow water dives are the norm by the end of the day. So it's excellent time for freediving... The kelp forests are paradise. Keep your eye peeled for the white ghost...
