Conditions are looking great and I'll be in the area for work Wednesday, launching at dawn Thursday hoping the salmon are still around and willing to bite. Company would be great.

Good eye - I'm looking at that window too and may be able to join you.  Let's keep looking at how the forecast develops and what the bite does this week.  Right now the charters and private boats are working a bit north and about 2.5 miles offshore, but word has it there are still fish to be had at the Whistle which is only about a mile off the entrance.

You should check Humboldt Tuna Club for the latest powerboat bite info.

The tides look better for Friday:

Thursday  16      Low   5:50 AM    -0.3   6:29 AM    Rise  5:34 AM      3
    16     High  12:10 PM     5.0   8:13 PM     Set  7:25 PM
    16      Low   5:45 PM     2.3
    16     High  11:31 PM     6.4

Friday   17      Low   6:25 AM    -0.3   6:30 AM    Rise  6:39 AM      0
    17     High  12:41 PM     5.4   8:11 PM     Set  7:57 PM
    17      Low   6:27 PM     1.9

because getting out at 550AM with the last of the low is cutting it close with sunrise and fog.  Can you do Friday instead?

Maybe on Friday. Friday definitely looks better but I have to be heading up to the Sierra's for the weekend that evening with the GF so that would probably be too much driving in one day (back to the bay area then up to grass valley plus packing etc.). I'm pushing for Thursday.

Bummer, Man - keep in touch about your next trip up.

Anyone else up for salmon run Friday morning out of Humboldt Bay?

If the ocean shapes up for that run we've been talking about, Rob, I will try to be in for that.  I need to be in Arcata Friday evening by 6ish, so if Thursday shapes up very nicely that would probably be the best day so I could devote all day and into the evening.
