Went to tamales bay at night fished from 9pm to 1am. First i caught a 25lb bat ray. Then 31 inch striper. Also 2 leopard sharks 45inch and 52inch.

Sounds like a fun night, I've never seen a striper comme outta Tomales, how about some more details, nothing specific, not looking for your spot, just want to know a little more.

Ya it was a great night. Just using bottom setup with 5/0 sturgeon rig and sliding 3oz triangle/pyramid weight. For bait cut frozen herring, tied magic thread around it so it would stay on the hook better. The bat ray and leopard sharks just took my bait and ran with it. But the striper hit the bait really hard. Then i waited about 10 secs and it took off with it. Set the hook and brought it in. Would post other pics but i didnt have a flash camera with me out there. Big mistake wont happen again.

Years ago I caught a 52" leopard shark and I was going to let it go...using sardine wrap with magic thread...a Russian couple talked me into keeping it...they wanted to eat it...I kept one large fillet and put it in lemon juice and a bunch of spices and kept it in my fridge for 4 days forgot about it than remembered it and pulled it out and fried it with flour/butter Unbelievably Good...

love night fishing.......Thanks for posting it up!!!

Nice! I've caught a couple of little ones out of Tomales, but that's the biggest striper I've seen come out of there in a long time.

In Loving Memory of Mooch, Eelmaster, Shicken, and Cabeza De Martillo

I started kayak fishing to get away from most of you...

Nice catch. Use to find a few in the lower Russian river, if they still show up people are keeping it real quiet.
