What are we defending it from?  People?

They have no clue what they are protecting. All they know is that man is bad. Their bleeding hearts tell them so. All feelings and no thinking of the reprocussions of their causes. 

We on the otherhand conserve. We do  not take more than we have to and we release what is best for the species. We are the true protectors. Yet to them we are savages who want to rape the ocean.

I have gotten into many discussions with those who all they know is hearsay. I had a guy once in HMB tell me there were no fish left in the ocean. I asked him if he ever ventured out on the water. Want to know his answer ,"no."  I educated him on what I saw on my buddies fishfinder. 18 miles of solid red baitballs and schools of fish. Oh what a suprised look I got out of him. Only problem with this conversation is he had his kid with him. I went back to cleaning my fish that weren't suppose to be there. I still wonder what his kid was thinking once they left. I hope I put an idea in his father's head.

Then as I shop here in Sunnyvale I get approached by Greenpeace alot. Dislike them too. They are whackos. I had one guy totally dis me so I let him have it. I went drill sergeant on him then left him to pisk up his own socks. IDIOT! He never comes up to me anymore. I wonder why.

My guess is that these are a bunch of Greenpeace people or some other organization like that. They just follow the leader like sheep.

 Well I suppose it's all in your perception of what the message reads.   
    We've hunted the Humpbacks to near extinction, until Greenpeace got involved.        Sharkfin soup...   It's one thing to catch a shark and eat it, along with the fins,,,    Thankfully someone is making an effort to stop that injustice.  The list goes on.
    Then there's the Pacific Gyre.   A floating garbage patch of plastics off our coast that's growing to over twice the size of Texas.  The fallout from this is a tsunami waiting to happen.   The level of toxins accumulating first in the bait fish, then moving up the food chain into the pelagic fish is on the rise.   Albatross , Pelicans, other hunters of the sea are dying by the thousands due to ingesting floating bits of plastic trash.

      Maybe you mean NCKA'ers .     Conserve?     A Commercial fisherman could be happy catching fish to support his family...    But get a Corporation involved and they'll rape the ocean till it's a barren wasteland.   Once they find they can earn a million dollar income, the next goal is a billion $$$.        Take the harvesting of King Crabs in Alaska during the 70's as an example.    Or these giant trawler processing ships first harvesting cod, until those disappeared, now it's pollack .

        Sometimes you have to look a little deeper than your own back yard.
