I thought that thing only worked with the Hero 2 (at least with full features).  I know you have to update the firmware on the gopro.  I know a few of the guys here have the wi-fi backpac so hopefully they will chime in for you.  What ever you do don't shitcan it.  I still need to get one but I've been holding out until the app comes out so you can stream video to your iphone.

supposedly you can use it with the regular gopro hero, you just dont get the full features which is fine with me. i just want to use the remote so i dont have to reach all the way over in my PA just to turn it on or off. i thought i got it to work once but that was a fail. im going to take it back to the store and see what they can do, if nothing, it may be for sale...

You are correct. The wifi is supposed to work with the hero hd and the hd2 cameras. The wifi live feed will only work with the hd2. I have the wifi and both cameras models. I haven't tried it on the hd.

Here's a link to a very helpful forum. Look in the stickies for two wifi threads. You might find help there.

Good luck and don't give up!

I knew there was some catch with the older model.

Hey Al, I wanted to check yours out at PIF, but I never got the chance to catch up with you, between all the food and those prizes you won.  Hopefully, will be able to at Albion.

Bret
