timber cove 7-19-12

got to the cove around 640, FAC conditions and solitude, launched and headed to the usual spots, was a negative tide this morning which pretty much killed the bite, in 5 hours on the water a scraped up 2 gophers and lost something huge to a stupid F!@#&ING ROOKIE BONEHEADED DUMBASS MISTAKE, had to cut off a snag and when i retied my braid to leader knot i looked at it and thought its not my best but it will be ok, F@#$!!!!!!!!!!, got a huge take down, gained some line and then it went for a huge run and SNAP, when i reeled in, yep broke at the f-ing knot, i pride myself in my knots, they never break, when f-ing tied right you stupid dumb ass, this is going to haunt me for awhile, so if any one catches a monster ling at timber and it has a wildenesshunter 4oz triangle jig and a big hammer halloween swimbait with 10ft of 20# flourcarbon leader attached to it, thats the mf-er, well lesson learned, the radio chatter from the salmon guys was really slow to non existant, alot of shakers and the only quality fish i heard of, maybe 4, were coming from really deep, cameron

Solitude compromised by crappy knot, bummer.  I know that feeling, looks perfect out there so hope you were able to soak some of it in!

Those are some fine looking conditions, but sorry about the bite being off and then the one that got away!  I'm headding up to TC as sooon as I possibly can break myself away from the Monterey area

sorry adam, i didnt even look at the tide log, when i showed up and saw it, i was like oh s#$t, so yeah my whole day was a disaster from the get go, also lost power to the FF around 9, and was casting a small swimbait into the boilers and got snagged and started to drift in and had to cut off and paddled out before it got more interesting, now i am trying to erase this day from my memory with pilsner and brownies, cameron

ive done that a few times myself.almost threw my rod in the water.

Sorry for the big loss Cameron.  BTDT, that's why I pre-tied my leaders the night before and checked my knots with a magnify glass nowadays

A high around 10 am is nice. That first pic looks just like the last time you were there. The thought of fishing alone right now is very appealing. Cam lets looks at the tides fro next week and go north Youll get another big fish but in the meantime
