Thinking if I could carry my glock with me on this PFD incase the landlord decides to collect the rent..pretty neat. I like all the pockets, imagine all the gear I could carry (tackle, survival gear, mres). What do you guys think?

I think there IS a limit as to what is reasonable as far as gear is concerned.   :smt044

... bear in mind that the GWS is a protected species and a handgut caliber doesn't penetrate the water surface enough to make any real damage.  You'd only piss it off....

That thing is pretty freaking sweet!!  :smt007

Oh, and if you use an older handgun with lower velocity it will have better water penetration (the bullet won't disintegrate due to force of impact with the surface). I think. *shrug*

I think that would make a better anchor than a life vest :smt001

you're kidding,  right? :smt044

no firearm will prevent a shark attack, and firing at one who is attacking your kayak may well piss it off beyond belief. And you might hit someone who is paddling near you. If you insist on a firearm, bring a bangstick.
MRE's? How long will you plan on paddling? I bring one powerbar in my PFD.
I don't carry tackle in my PFD. Flares, whistle, radio. Strobe if you are out in darkness. Tackle goes in a plano box.

Best to keep things simple. More PFD pockets=more things to snag when you dump the yak and have to climb back on.

That item would be a good conversation piece at the beach though!

I've seen one GWS blowed up by a guy shooting a rifle.  You just gotta hit the air tank that is in the corner of its mouth.  Big explosion with flames and everything.  I saw it with my own two eyes watching the truth box.

The only items I carry in my inflatable life vest are:  VHF, whistle, small tape measure and a flare.  The rest of my toys go in the yak in separate waterproof containers:  tackle, 1st aid, food, misc & cellphone.
