I am thinking of trying for salmon this weekend, either launch at Doran or one of the beaches north of Bodega (preferably, if conditions allow).  With the fog and distance, don't want to do it alone, anyone else game?  Here is the NWS weather forcast for off of Carmet:

Saturday: Variable winds less than 5 kt becoming WSW 5 to 7 kt in the afternoon. Patchy fog before 11am. Mixed swell...WNW 4 ft and SW 2 ft. Wind waves around 1 ft.

Saturday Night: W wind 5 to 9 kt becoming variable and less than 5 kt in the evening. Patchy fog after 11pm. Mixed swell...WNW 4 ft and S 1 to 2 ft. Wind waves around 1 ft.

Sunday: Variable winds less than 5 kt becoming SW around 6 kt in the afternoon. Patchy fog before 11am. Mixed swell...WNW 4 ft and SSW 1 ft. Wind waves around 1 ft.

Civilization ends at the waterline. Beyond that, we all enter the food chain, and not always right at the top.

I could do either day, so Sunday is fine.  I will shoot you a pm tomorrow and we can figure out the details.

I plan to launch either from Doran or HMB or perhaps even Santa Cruz on Sunday. Depends on whether, bite, and where I would most likely be able to meet up with other NCKA members. Leaning towards Doran or slightly north, but I'm flexible. I'll be on CH 69.

I was the only one at Bodega Saturday. I trolled the whistle buoy from 6am to about 10am with no luck. It was crowded early on, but one by one all the PBs went north. By 10 I was by myself. Weather was great, 5 to 6 foot swells.

At 10 I came in and switched gear for mooching/rockfishing. Paddled to the reef about a mile SE of the gong, about half way to Tomalas. Lots of bird action. I was mooching amongst diving pelicans. No bites. Very long paddle back. My arms are still sore.
