I really can't begin to express enough all the wonderful things I've learned from this group over the years, but food diversity is very prominent. I have tried such a variety of dishes with you that I would have never eaten in my normal day to day life. I love it and I thank all of you.

Jedmo introduced a delicious dish to me at the Mooch Invitational. I've thought about it often and finally found it.
Well, today I made my first batch of Ahi Poke. Simple for many of you, but a big step forward for an old guy like me!

Thank you Jedmo!
Al

I tried an easy recipe from Sunset Magazine.

http://www.myrecipes.com/recipe/tuna-poke-50400000122714/

1 pound raw ahi tuna, cut into 1/2-in. cubes
    3 tablespoons reduced-sodium soy sauce
    1 tablespoon toasted sesame oil
    1 teaspoon Asian chili oil
    2 tablespoons ponzu sauce*
    1 garlic clove, minced
    1 green onion, sliced diagonally
2 tablespoons roughly chopped cilantro leaves
    1 teaspoon toasted sesame seeds

Mix all ingredients together in a medium bowl. Serve with rice crackers.

*Find ponzu in the Asian-foods aisle.

My sushi brain is saying that some diced mango would be a bomb addition as well as a bit of wasabi...
