I use ladder hooks from Home Depot. Inexpensive, easy to find, and easy to install.

I wanted extra cushion for my kayak, so I replaced the thin foam padding with a section of pool noodle, which slips right on.

I think those are the same ones I use. Secured into the 2"x4" boards in the wall with 1/4x20 lag bolts. I predrill a hole into the wood wall studs before screwing in the bolts to make sure I don't split the studs. You just gotta mount these low enough on the wall so you can lift the kayak into them.

i use a folding rack that is supposed to be for Bicycles. Check your local Home Depot or OSH, or whatever you guys have local. They are cheap&effective!

I like the idea of hanging the kayak on the wall...just too bad I don't have enough clear wall space.

Super, Thanks for all the ideas. I am lucky to be moving into a place with lots of room on the garage walls and less than a mile from the lake. I will post pictures another time.

Good deal. I didn't even think about ladder hooks. And they're only $6 at Home Depot.
