P.S.     Headwaters Kayak shop in Lodi is also the real deal. Those guys GET IT.  and they stepped up in a huge way for the people who have sacrificed so much.

+1 on that and all the folks that did so much to make this the best HOW event I have ever attended. I won't single out individuals, but some people really went over the top and God bless you all.

Hi Don,
I’m sitting here with Pam (who I’m cc’ing), who attend the HOW event on Saturday. She asked that I email you to convey her appreciation of the event. She told me that one of her friends who has known her for over 10 years commented on how she had never seen her look so relaxed before. When Pam told her that she participated in the kayak/fishing event with your organization and other veterans, her response was “oh… you were with your people.”  Pam wishes to express sincere gratitude to you and all of your volunteers for all of the hard work and dedication you all provided to make the event such a powerful and therapeutic experience.  She looks forward to the next HOW event in Lodi later this summer.

That's very cool Don. Please let me know how I can help with the Lodi event. The Lodi Paddle Club is excited to help in whatever way they can as well. They saw the photos from the last trip and were inspired. Let's make this the biggest and best yet! FYI they just planted Lodi Lake with trout and the fishing is really heating up on the lake and the river.

Don, I wanted to thank you and your team again for Saturday’s event! One of the veterans on the bus had a wonderful time. He was so excited to tell me he caught three fish! He was so moved he wanted to write you and our supervisor a letter of his positive experience. He enjoyed socializing with others and the entire day.
 
Good times, and always rewarding as a clinician to experience veterans having a great time.

That positive feedback should be shared by all of us.  If you were there and helped, you
deserve a great slap on the back.  We know how kayaking touches our senses and how fishing on a kayak gets our motors going.  We are fortunate to have something so simple and yet seemingly so powerful to share with our veterans.  All we need is more fish, more fish, more fish...

I left a fillet knife, cimeter knife and sharpening steel at Kelsey. If anyone picked them up, please PM me. Thanks!
