my new name should be Ostridge. Got my head in the sand. Going fishing and letting go of the other stuff I can't control anyway!

Back when Loch Lomond was open to kayaks, I caught myself snoring a few times while anchored up near the narrows.  How could you not, FAC water, sun cooking down on you, fav beverage in the cup holder, gental rocking.  If your not moving, it's nap time!

It's the best way to sleep!  So relaxing...and nothing beats getting a fish on to wake you up

My all time favorite fishing style is anchoring up on the American River, two poles out ninety degrees, kwikfish waggling, just lay back and relax as its definitely not like Sturgeon where you have to focus on the rod tip for any wiggle.  Doze off and wake when your rod is bent at a ninety degree angle surging like something angry is wanting to get off, and the rocking of the kayak like a pb just went by and your catching sloppy wake.  Heart stopping stuff from doze to triple shot of espresso in no seconds flat.

I was tied off under a bridge on the delta one time while striper fishing.
Fell SOUND asleep. The kind of sleep where you think you're in bed.
All of the sudden I hear a loud, crashing, grinding sound that scared the $hit out of me.
Turned out it was a swing bridge I was tied off under and a large cruiser was coming through.
Popped right up and right off the bat wondered, "Where the F am I? Wait, water..WTF?"
Took me a while to recover from that one.
Right in the middle of my REM's too.  :smt011
