Wasn't able to fish on Friday or Sat.  Had to work on Friday and no bait at the "bait" shop on Sat....doh!  Made the drive out of town for real bait at a real bait shop.

Didn't leave until 9:00 am, and this turned out to be a mistake.  The warm weather has already turned on the topwater.  Once topwater starts the bite is early so by 9:00 I had already missed the bulk of the show.  Even worse, we didn't pack any topwater gear.

As soon as we hit the water boils were all over the south end of the lake.  We headed near Crappie Cove and put some bait in the water. We trolled for about 1/2 an hour and my co-worker Mike hooked a snaky striper.  This was his first ever, so he was stoked.

Me and my son both got bent a bit later but missed the hook-ups.  Trolled until noon for nothing else.  My son pulled a last-minute hail mary paddling all the way to the trailer with his bait out and slammed a huge LMB in shallow water.  This was the biggest LMB I have ever seen in the flesh.  Weighed in at a bit over 6.5 lbs.  It looked HUGE.  In the end I was the only zero for the day.   :pupi

Jr. with his smoking LMB!

Gotta love kids and fish.

That's a great catch.  It looks BIG in the picture and must have been huge in the flesh.

WOW  Thats a bigazz Bass!  They love the live minnows.  I have caught a few big LMB "Accidentially" while crappie fishing.  Nothing close to that big though thats a nice one.

The minnows we were using were HUGE, maybe the big bait-big fish thing is right.
