I will be heading to DP friday evening for a multi-day camping trip at Mocasin Point campgrounds. A few years back we got some nice catfish in Mocasin creek night fishing. DP is also a major trout, salmon, and kokanee lake which is what i want to target during my upcoming trip. Plan on fishing DEEP (like 90 ft) in the main lake near jenkins hill. Anybody know a place to put in that will give me closer access to this area? too far to paddle from Mocasin Point, Dam launch may be a better option. Im hoping there is dirt raod access to the lakeshore around mid lake... anybody know anything about this or have any location tips for the salmonoids?

Get a hold of Garety/Garet, he is pretty familiar with this lake.  Maybe send him a PM.

the closest launch to jenkins would be fleming meadows...there really is no access to the jenkins area. but there are plenty of trout and salmon to be caught in the moccasin area, its actually one of the better trout areas in the lake!

edit: confuxed my launches

Thinking about throwing my yak on the car and heading up there Saturday morning for a little trout fishing near Moccasin.  Any suggestions?

I plan on pulling home tied spoons and hootchies behind dodgers at an undetermined depth. Probably fifty to ninety feet deep, hopefully we get somemore input from other members...

My uncle, who exclusively fishes Moccasin several times a week for bass, regularly picks up nice salmon and trout.

Any updated following the trip?  Heading up there for Fathers Day weekend.  My gift to myself this Fathers Day is helping my 2 girls land their first fish so any advice, tips, locations etc. for this lake is a HUGE help!!!
