Hi,

I'm new to kayak fishing in the Bay and am wondering where the best places are to fish for Halibut.  I live in Marin and have gone fishing off of China Camp / McNears Brickyard, but am wondering where other members favorite spots and tides are.  Does Paradise produce more fish?

Also, as I can best decipher the fishing rules, it looks like Halibut have to be 22" in length to keep and you can only keep one.  Is this correct?

I have had two great trips off of McNears. I only caught a Sand Shark and a Leopard Shark, but the experience was fantastic. Oh, I did see a large Sturgeon jump.

Any tips would be appreciated as I'm going out on Saturday.  Looking forward to returning the favor soon!

Thanks,

Peter

This is for California halibut. Pacific halibut has no minimum size, 1 fish limit.

Only Calif hallies in the bay...
The area off Marin rod and gun club pier out to the edge of the channel can produce as well as the sameline but on S side of Richmond bridge. Both can be accessed from the small beach just N of the gun club.
