Cabrillo (SoCal) 6/7/12

Got out this afternoon at Cabrillo Beach on the "inside."  It was blowing like crazy from the WSW.

The definition of insane is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results.    I just caught (and released) one short halibut.  If I would use live bait I would probably get better fish.  But no, I keep throwing plastics.    I guess I'm a slow learner or something like that.

 But I got some neat pictures of the Iowa and the Lane Victory so here we go.

First the short halibut:



Next - the Iowa ... I could have gotten much closer, but ... well I thought I was fishin'





So on the way back I went by the Lane Victory ...



And this guy SALUTES ME! -- so I take his picture.   That was neat.





Maybe one day I will stop here and get some bait.  I don't know why I took this picture. 



I'm a tourist in my own town.   

 

Dave, thanks for another cool So Cal report  Don't give up on the plastics! It's a little tougher to catch fish than live bait of course, but the payoff is gonna be off-the-hook  You're already catching shorties on em, so a legal one is one its way brother.
