GF and I ventured up to the Antioch area for some kayaking/bird watching/birthday fishing.  Fishing wasn't so great for me as I didn't get a thing but got several good hits.  We ended up in a shallow mucky area when GF is startled, by several large fish head butting her boat.  We are in 6-18 inches of water and are seeing fish break everywhere around us.  This goes on for over thirty minutes.  I am set up for panfish with a plastic worm and 4lb test, I way over matched, but I try any way.  I get a couple of strikes but nothing else.  We are watching Dorsal and tail wakes from the same fish and guessing them to be 18-20 inches from each other.  So the question is at this time of year are sturgeon spawning, migrating or ????  We knew they were bottom feeders,we were not sure if they were Sturgeon, carp, or cats.  I kind of don't think they were catfish, carp maybe, but they why they were tight together in school, made think of some of the pictures from that group of sturgeon at low tide in Oregon last year some one posted.  Any thoughts?

As for the bird watching: numerous Grey, Green, and White heron's, Osprey, Harriers(one with a fish), turns, otters, and some large jumping fish to far away to make out.  Great way to spend a birthday.

Sounds like carp spawning.but again it might be sturgeon but I not know of sturgeon being in that shallow.
My biggest worry is that my wife(when I'm dead)will sell my fishing gear for what I said I paid for it

Carp if they were Dinos you would know it
Group IQ is inversely proportional to the size of the group.
