I did a 5:16 in a very controlled environment.  If you're going to practice statics do it on dry land.

Curious as to why you're interested in statics.

My best was 3:37 back when I was actively Ab dive.  Was planning to attend Yoga class to improve bottom time but...other things got in the way  :smt003

My longest breath hold was 30 seconds. Ya know, those thirty seconds, after you knock up the boss' daughter, and you ask her to marry you, and for thirty seconds, you pray she says no, so you are off the hook for being anchored down by a ritual called matrimony.
Live your life, the way you want to be remembered. Don't have any regrets, we only get this one dance to make it count. Start at your eulogy, and work backwards.

My longest static breath hold was 1:45.  Rick has a good apnea table that I will forward to you.  I have not been using it that long but have seen a huge difference.  I also have a few o2 deprivation exercises that help increase dynamic breath hold.  That is of course if your at me level.  If your static is more than a 1:45 then forget everything I just said

The puff, puff, pass breathing excercise seems to work for some of the Nor Cal divers  :smt044
