I took the advice of the Shaman of Stripers and ran up to lake mendo for an afternoon paddle.  I reached the south boat ramp with lively bait, a cold beer and sharp hook at 2 pm.  I paddled as I was instructed and at 2:35 BAM, I was hooked up.  I had the whole lake to myself.  The wind was blowing a little but no worries, FISH ON!  I landed him (10 lber), put him on the stringer, cracked open a celebratory beer and lip hooked another bait.  I kept trolling toward the N. boat ramp and this sharp rocky point where  I met this guy in a power boat. He held up a nice smallmouth and I held up my striper and he said,"Nice striper, let me come over and check it out."  At that point I started to turn my kayak and BAM I was on again.  This fish was a bookend to the first.  I played my fish, landed him, gave the guy the rest of my bait and headed for the ramp.  It was 3:30 at this point.  Talked to Sean when I got home and he said he saw me on the freeway headed south when he was driving home for work.  Thanks.
