GF and I were doing the ground work for a paddle and fish on the Stanislaus below knights ferry.  Flow if 1300 range, a little class section in that area than clear sailing after that.  Catch and release areas for salmon and trout.  Now here is the kicker, friend of gf calls and says that friends sister and b-law are having a crawfish boil with a 100 pound of bugs coming in for the event????  What to do?  Haven't had any bugs in a very long time, of course i haven't caught trout in a loing time and never caught a salmon before.  I know the most of you will say do both but it will make for a crammed weekend.

You can always fish but how often would you be able to see 100lbs of crawfish in CA?

Not sure if it has changed, but I went there about 10 years ago and frozen crawfish just isn't the same as the fresh stuff.

Get out to the rice fields around Sacramento while they're draining them...  We used to  pick em up by the hundreds.

Just the float down the Stanislaus would be worth the trip.
Sometimes the fish isn't the only prize.

A change of plans occurred after GF's had a phone call a family member went in the hospital, so we ate the bugs, and stayed in the area over the weekend.  All is well with FM, keeping our fingers crossed.
