i was taught not to cast right into the boil but off to the side a bit.....for the outside fish waiting for the wounded bait , PLus you can disturb the feeding frenzy by casting right in the middle of it. out here in the delta we see boils when the shad start running loose.

I've never seen a stripper(striper) boil in the lakes but out in the delta my go to lure is the super spook.bad thing with this is there's three treble hooks, flopping fish, ouch in the tumbs a many of times.I've caught stripers the same size as my spook.that's what I'm waiting on the fall run in the delta.my favorite colors are chartreuse head white body, chartreuse nickel insert, chartreuse head black body gold insert.man nothing like top water stripers. :smt003
My biggest worry is that my wife(when I'm dead)will sell my fishing gear for what I said I paid for it

My first 'real' srtiper boil was at Mendo. I know why they call it 'boil'. The water looked like a pot on my kitchen stove filled with water with the heat turned up all the way.
I tossed a Kastmaster to the side only to get followers ut no takers.
They did tear up the live minnow though.
