I've seen quite a number of talented people on here so I thought I'd share a metal work piece I recently completed.  This is a 6' long x 2' tall Mahi-Mahi.  It is hand cut (plasma) and hand painted (indoor/outdoor use).  Multiple other specias of fish are in works for the near future.  Sorry, this one's not for sale ... but consignment of other pieces possible.  The pictures suck.  If you'd like to see it in person, please feel free to drop me a line.

I normally work in wood but I've been tinkering with metal more and more these past few years.

This one is made from 2 sheets of corrugated, galvanized steel.  The fish is cut out of it & the back sheet is painted then I attache the front to the back.  It's quite fun!

Very nice!

Plasma to metal is an awesome way to bust out some extremely creative art, way to hit it!

Pretty cool!  Does galvanized release noxious fumes when torched/cut?

Very nice work there!  I would kill to have a space at my house for just a small metal shop, but a 6' piece? Very cool :smt003

I'm not sure about the fumes.  Living is hazardous to our health these days.  I'm in the process of finish my woodshop so I can return to working on cleaning up my metal shop/machine shop at home.  Till then, I find myself doing the metal work outside when I have a project like that to cut.  Thanks all for the compliments! :smt006

Galvanized metal does release noxious fumes when heated.  We always cut galvanized metals outside where hopfully we have breeze to help carry the fumes away.

Set a fan up, cutting any galvanized metal is extremely toxic, I spent 20 years as a certified nuclear welder.

Thanks again everyone!  I will continue to cut the galv. outdoors till the metal shop is re-organized and a suction fan is installed.  That's been on the wish list of additions as I get ready to work on it.

These make a great addition to a man cave & Fathers Day is just around the corner!   :smt007
