Cool, hopefully I'll see you guys there and the seas are calm.  We'll have the fryer going and fish tacos in the works Saturday night.

I can't wait to be back on the coast.

I'll be packing up this afternoon/eveing for a 9am departure. I'm glad I'll be at Albion with some protection tomorrow.  Looks like a small craft advisory until very late Friday night early Saturday morning.

Small Craft Advisory in effect through late Friday night
Cape Mendocino To Pt Arena Out 10 Nm-
Today
NW wind 15 to 25 kt. Wind waves 3 to 5 ft. NW swell 4 to 6 ft at 8 seconds.
Tonight
NW wind 15 to 25 kt. Wind waves 5 to 7 ft. W swell 4 to 6 ft at 8 seconds. Areas of drizzle in the evening...then patchy drizzle overnight. Patchy fog overnight.
Fri
NW wind 15 to 25 kt. Wind waves 4 to 6 ft. NW swell 5 to 7 ft at 13 seconds. Patchy fog in the morning. Patchy drizzle in the morning.
Fri Night
NW wind 15 to 25 kt. Wind waves 3 to 5 ft. NW swell 6 to 8 ft. Patchy fog.
Sat
NW wind 10 to 20 kt. Wind waves 3 to 5 ft. W swell 6 to 8 ft. Patchy fog.
Sun
NW wind 10 to 20 kt. Wind waves 2 to 4 ft. NW swell 5 to 7 ft. Patchy fog. Slight chance of showers.
Mon
NW wind 10 to 20 kt. Wind waves 2 to 4 ft. NW swell 4 to 6 ft. Slight chance of showers.  It looks to be a game time decision if we'll try for salmon on the outside. If not we'll stay mostly in the cove.

I want to drop the crab trap as well.  Anyone know where the big crabs are inside or outside the cove?  I know a lot hang out near the boat docks, but they all seem to be pretty small.

Hope to see some NCKAers there.  I'll be in a gray ford ranger.

Cheers,
Birddog

This was taken yesterday. I posted it on another thread.
We were going to stay at Caspar for 5 days but left 2 days early because of the shitty ocean conditions. Just got home a couple of hours ago.
Weather is great on shore, terrible off shore.
Be careful and good luck.
If you have binoculars I suggest you watch the water from a good high vantage point for a good 15-20 minutes before going out.
Big water way outside early will mean mixed chop inside and will eventually make it's way closer as the day progresses.
I scoped it 3 days in a row and it never got better. 6am to 7am was the best and it still sucked.
