I know this should probably be posted in another forum but I think the divers on this board use gopros more than anybody else.

What is the average On time for your gopro battery? Mine only seems to last between 1-2 hours and that's not with it filming the whole time. Just being turned on.

Feedback?

Thanks guys,

I know fuzz will have more precise info, but here's how I run mine to maximize battery life and sd card space.

I turn it on and start filming right before I dive and record each dive. When I get back to the surface I stop recording, and I have it set to turn itself off after about 90 seconds (don't ask me how I have it set, it just does it!  :smt005). When I hear it turn itself off, I start breathing up...turn it back on and repeat.

By doing that, I have never had the battery run out on me, the SD card always fills up first....course I am just using an 8gb SD card.

I get about 1.5 hours of footage on the 8gb SD card....

It takes a second to turn it off and back on...maybe that would help you save battery life?

If you want, come over for a beer and see what settings I have mine on, or call me and I can tell you what I see on the screen...course getting together for a beer sounds better.  :smt004

Hope that helps buddy!

 :smt006

Sincerely,

Jim

My 960 only runs me about 1.5-2 hours.  Messed up on Sunday and left it running with a view of my crotch for 45 mins  :smt012  Then when it came time to film Traceys ling, it died on me and had to switch to my camera for the footage  :smt003

Thanks for the feedback guys I'll do a little experimenting with the settings and see if I can extend my battery time.
