We caught a lot of those Kamloops up in Kamloops BC years back. Fly in lakes with no roads. What smoker are you using Ed? Brown sugar and salt is about all I use. Sometimes Ill make a glaze from brown sugar, fresh ground ginger root and orange zest. Thats the shit right there dude! Great report and pics. Those trout got tails!

Whether it's from a boat or a yak, that is some sweet fishing there! Those are some healthy fish, love the color of the meat on that trout too!! Thanks for the report Ed

Your thinking sounds perfectly logical. You can probably ride that bite to the more southern/shady bays a little later into the spring when they warm.
