Hey Derrick.  I am a newbie at this but, some things I discovered after fishing from my Prowler.  The shop I bought my boat from thru in the new pod cover at my request and I really like that it is stiffer and makes a tighter seal than the original cover.  However, I also found out that the cover is really designed for Cannon holders and its a bit cranky with Scotty stuff, it works but not smoothly.  I also did not like rod holders on the lid, made the deck cluttered for bringing up and measuring fish and I did not like the idea that I could not easily access my hold or climb back on easy without a cleaner deck set-up.  I have since mounted additional rod holders out front to troll with and just hold my rod for all else.  I would still get the lid for the seal and its nice to put some pad eyes on for leashes and such. I also have a couple of pieces of industrial velcro that I stick my camera box and fish grip to keep them handy.  Everyone likes their own set-up of course but, my 2 cents is the new lid is not necessarily a "have to have" right away if you can wait and find a deal.

Yea, I almost bit the bullet and bought that Scotty tree (lots of ideas for that). I have to slow down a bit cause this new hobby is draining my funds too fast LOL  I know you will find a good deal on a mod pod lid.  Maybe if I can swing it I will meet you at Shelter cove.  Looks like you are well set-up so far.

A Mod Pod just came up for sale on NWKA ... http://www.northwestkayakanglers.com/index.php?topic=7967.0

This brand new Mod Pod is from the former NW OK sales rep.  It is brand new.  A bargain at $50.
