Just posting some picks for my trip to folsom with rawyak.  Rawyak will have the report.  Just got show that I can fish. Hooked 4 lost one, line broke on the other, caught these two.

Awesome job!   What did you use to catch them?

Looks like great bassin with the trees now flooded and the lake closer to being filled up.

Thanks for the report and congrats on your fish.

So, my brother (fishfingers) and I wanted to fish somewhere with all of the great weather and rising water at folsom.  We were out the previous Friday (4/13/01) in the most brutal conditions I've had to face at Folsom  :smt011. (PIC 1)  I gave up when wind waves started crashing over my bow (about 15 min in), but Rob tried for a couple hours for nothing.  It was pretty much hopeless that day.

So, a work week goes by, I come back to sactown for BBSII and my bro and I decide to drive to Beals Point and try again.  We've fished this small area for over ten years (from float tubes mostly) and know the ins and outs of it pretty well.  As we drive to Folsom, listening to California Sportsman radio, we are feeling confident that we gonna "get some!"  We pull up to the same place we usually launch and are stoked to see the water has risen almost to 100% capacity!! (PIC 2) Game on, but wait, we look out to see a bass boat already working the area.  Damn!!!! Its only 7am and I'm surprised.  WTF, we usually see only 1 bass boat all day at Beals, but today is different.  Turns out there was a future pro event that day.  :smt012

Anyways, we throw the usual offerings at the trees/ rockpiles.  Rob quickly hooks up on his first smallie, an estimated 3 pounder on the old standby Senko.  Even with the 350 hp lake monsters everywhere it looks as though we may still get some quality fish!!  To my dismay, the bass guys roar in and out of "our" spots the whole morning, but I'm happy to see them not catch much.  :smt005

Its a gorgeous day, but as it goes, I can only manage to get my hands on one spotted bass. (PIC 3) :smt012  I must have done something to piss off the bass gods, because I can't seem to catch anything over 16" for the past two years.   We caught our 3 fish on either roboworms or senkos.  Folsom is primed for some nice bass, as you can see, from Rob's 4 lbr, but I suggest going on a weekday as it can get annoyingly crowed with swimmers, barking dogs, rafters, screaming kids, and yelling parents on the warm weekends.

All in all, another great day OTW with my bro. (even if he whooped my ass)  :smt044

thanks for the positive rep. bro. Hey skipro, Ill gladly trade some bass tips for some trout tips.  Pm me sometime maybe hit up the lake near placerville for trout.  The bass and stripes in the Delta should be heating up and I know a spot its a long for you though.

Thanks for the report and pictures fellas. I need to learn how to use all these plastics I bought recently for bass fishing. Perhaps visit Folsom too when I come up to visit my brother in Sac.

Guess I'll have to change the plan then.  Gerle? Harder to fish, but no motors allowed...
