Redwood City Sun 4-15

Sunday out of Port of Redwood City for some Bat Ray sliegh rides. If the winds are down run for the shipwreck to see if any stripers are hanging out. High tide is around 9 AM.

I need to hurry up and retire from the Guard ,  I would of loved to have gone for that!  I have drill this weekend . Another time

Would love to join you guys next time. I'll try to get hold of a tandem and take my nephew out.

A couple sources say that the rays are out there thick, spawning now. Lots of 30 -50 pounders. I wouldn't eat one, but they are fun to catch. Although farther than I"m thinking of paddling the Dumbarton is a few miles south and that is know as a Sturgeon hot spot. Alameda Creek is right across from RWC. The influx of water with these rains will be stirring things up so there is a chance for a Sturgeon if you can keep the rays off your bait.  . The old warship wreck (USS Thompson (DD-305)),is about 2/3 of the way across the bay. Always wanted to check it out and may do so if conditions are right.

Take Seaport Blvd at Woodside Rd exit. Follow SeaportBlvd to end. When you get to Pacific Shores Center turn left Fllow rd till road angles right along slough. Small pocket parking lot for public on left. This is as close as you can get to the bay.

That sleigh ride sounds like a blast. Those big rays are no joke when they are hooked. Couldn't imagine that from a yak.

Do you know for how long they'll be around spawning thick like that?
