Bendo at mendo

Hey everyone. wondering why im not seeing anymore tournaments for mendocino the last few years? I know ive been having a lot tougher time catching much there anymore? Maybe im just missing it?

Bendo at Mendo was scrapped due to a number of mostly "political" reasons and due to the fact that the CSBA no longer stocks striped bass in the lake.

Yeah thats a real bummer. There used to be another small local private group that raised money for stripers to plant

Yeah... I haven't fished it for a few years now, but the stripers must be getting depleted at this point.  FiShadow... there are other species in mendo for sure, LMB being the most tourney worthy, but if that were the target, Clear Lake is just over the hill and would be a much better choice.  Mendo has just become so mismanaged in recent years.  They are now planting trout in there, which is just ridiculous.  They are nothing more than planters for the table, as I doubt many could actually hold over through a summer to turn into bigger fish.  The lake just gets way too warm.  I miss my striper fishing adventures on mendo...

I totally agree. There are LMB, SMB, crappie,carp,catfish and bluegills at this lake.....and maybe a few stripers left. We can call it "MENDOFEST"
