I've been crabbing at bodega bay a few times but have never seen anyone fishing there.  Surely there can't be no fish there !?
Anyone have any luck/tips/suggestions for fishing there ?

During the RF season if you go out and around the jetty there can be great fishing but conditions can get bad.

There are perch around the jetties and along the whole beach. Just look for dips in the sand with your FF just outside of where the waves are rising and breaking. It is a shallow beach so they will be farther out as well, I've had luck jigging grubs around piles of vegitation.

Also I've never caught any but I've hear that going out in between the rock island and bodega head and fishing in the sand will produce dabs and maybe buts.

Being a sandy beach as big as doran is there should be many more things out there, leapord and maybe coastal thresher shark, bat rays and various flatfish, striper, baitfish, and if you can catch it at the right time, salmon have been caught within paddling distance of the beach.

I've even fished inside the bay from the breakwater pier and caught, small squid(good bait), topsmelt, jacksmelt, perch, and small leapord sharks.

I was crabbing there in December and a guy caught a 30" ling in a hoop at the end of the jetty. Yeah he let it go because there were too many witnesses.  :smt044 :smt044 :smt044

My buddy fishes for ling off the end of the exterior jetty. Poke pole for eel on the way out. Drop shot a ghost shrimp (bounce the weight, shrimp a foot or two up) on the way out for small/medium rock. You can get bait fish casting a sabiki w/ chicken bits from the base towards the island or shrimp can be pumped in the area. Never caught a butt out there, but I've watched people try, lol. Good luck.
