Anyone going out in Monterey Bay tomorrow (4/7) for salmon?  I need to get OTW this weekend...

Threadjack, sorta.

Always nice to see my partner Mike Baxter referenced on NCKA.  You can also check weekly for my written reports in the Santa Cruz Sentinel (.com), and reprinted on fishwithjd.com, and sportfishingreport.com.  Also, the occasional kayak fishing piece on norcalfishingnews.com.  A new article re salmon fishing is going up there today.

Best of all, listen to The Let's Go Fishing Radio Show broadcast 1080AM every Thursday night 8pm (in season started last night year 11).  On the web via the radio show's website, or KSCO.com.  We cover the whole state with emphasis on Monterey and SF bay area.

As far as kayak fishing for salmon, remember it will be a zoo here all weekend.  My best advice for yakking bretheren is to wait till midweek when all the kooks go home, and we know where the fish are.  If you must go out this weekend, Moss landing is probably best launch spot and fish out front or paddle up to Pajaro.  Best intel so far is fish are deep, so it might be quite a paddle.  Conditions look good, but there's going to be hordes of PBs out there, with a good percentage of distracted kooks going as fast as they can and not looking out for you in your kayak.  I wouldn't paddle out before dawn this weekend, even running strobelights.

Have safe and be fun.

Allen
