My first kayak was a Marauder; then I moved to a T13, primarily for a rudder. I liked the Marauder, stability wise but, without a rudder, I was constantly compensating my paddling due to wind or current, in order keep on track. Both kayaks are officially rated at the same weight but I had a harder time in lifting the Marauder, possibly due to it being heavier than rated.

Cobra Marauders are cool and really popular down south. Lighter than OK. PM sackyak. He owns one.

The new style Marauder has the option for a rudder which was a nice upgrade. The Marauder weight is slightly over the online rating. I had one for a year and liked it a lot. Really great performing kayak that was very stable. Did not like the molded footwells. I use to sell them at my store a lot but the RTM Abaco has basically taken over the Marauder sales. Similar performance but much nicer deck layout.
