Hey Guys and Gals,

So I have the day off work tomorrow and really really need to get my yak wet. My original plan was to hit San Pablo Dam but a fellow NCKAr was nice enough to give me a heads up on the conditions which are not stellar.

If YOU were going to hit up a bay area lake tomorrow and wanted to catch giant trout where would you go?

Somebody recommended Shadow Cliffs as it does not get very muddy. I've never been there but am totally into the idea of trying someplace new.

I contacted the guys at Dell Valle and they say the water is not quite a muddy mess yet but the fishing has not been very good at all.

I am also considering trying the Quarry which I have also never been to. Any input would be most welcome.

Thanks

Alrighty then!!! Quarry it is. Sounds like Pond Poacher might be joining us. I've been meaning to try the Quarry for a long time now and am excited at the chance to fish a new location. I'm a pretty lazy fisherman so I don't fish outside SC all that often.

I was just on their website and it looks like they open at 6am. That's when I'll be arriving. I also noticed that they have a ban on lead fishing tackle. Guess I'll have to make a quick trip to the store and pick up some tungsten or steel weights. I usually like to troll 1 rod with a threaded night crawler and 1 rod with something else until I figure out what they want.

I'll bring my handheld so look for me on 69 if you show up late. It doesn't look like a particularly large lake though so I'm sure we'll find each other if one of us shows up late.

Look forward to meeting you tomorrow James.

Been doing good at Quarry on my last 2 trips.  Bring your yak.  Trolling is best.

I went for a walk around fisherman's row yesterday at around 4PM.  One group of bankers were zero another group had 2 nice ones.  Conditions were cold and breezy.

If I had to choose one bay area lake to fish for trout I'd most definitely hit the delta for large mouth bass.  Thast why I had no feedback  :smt003
