Are you sure there are fish in this lake?
Conveniently had some training at the Aquatic Center so launched after 4pm when the winds and rain lulled a little, marked fish but the surface temp was 50 so pretty cold. One sparky little 10 inch bow took a kastmaster and that was about it, one hook up on a jig and pig off the point near the bike bridge were some fish where staging but came unbuttoned, it was little guy anyway. Found a poor dead otter. Also still quite a bit of water hyacinth in there as well. I took a pic of the sign at the ramp too since I know the issue of motorized traffic comes up, looks like any powerboats can launch and the whole lake is 5 mph, certainly have nice ramps at the dam and willow creek now.

my new name should be Ostridge. Got my head in the sand. Going fishing and letting go of the other stuff I can't control anyway!

Thanks for sharing.  Negro Bar also has a nice ramp with limited parking next to the ramp or a short walk down to it.  I caught some bows in the past paddlilng up towards the prison. The water current up that way is unpredictable and all depends on the release from the dam at Folsom Lake.

Its surprising with three nice launch facilities and motorboats allowed that there is not more boats, maybe folks have not figured it out yet and I should delete the photo with the 5 mph sign! :smt003

Most of the boats launch from Negro Bar and that is usually early in the morning.

Obviously you weren't there on the weekend. Boats galore.
And the common knowledge is that there are in fact no fish in Lake Natomas.

Certainly explains the bite better, or lack thereof, if the weekends are packed that is, I don't think I have ever seen a pb there, ever..weird
