Thinking ahead I was looking at kayaks to take my young son along in. I want him in front and facing me so I always have an eye on him and can teach him about fishing.  The Hobie Pro Angler has that big well in front but Hobie doesn’t seem to have a gator seat accessory like I’ve seen on Malibu Kayaks. Has anyone done a modification for a front child seat on a Hobie Pro Angler?

I bought a second seat to try to put in the back of my wilderness . Too much weight with someone sitting behind me. Lifts the nose too much. Planning to sell it. It's built on a metal frame so you strap it down through your scupper holes let me know if interested. Called sit backer by GCI outdoor

you would have to remove the hatch cover of the PA if you want your little guy up there, then what would happen if you got a wave that swamped you for some reason?  how about a tandem yak instead?

You should check out the new tandem kayak by Jackson Kayaks called the big tuna. The yak aloows you to face the chairs towards each other, which could work great with teaching a kid how to fish. Plus it comes with a live well that requires no plumbing or electrical. The Headwaters Kayak shop will be one of the first to carry this boat.
