Stopped by Dave's house to say "hello" this afternoon and he's planning to go to lake Chabot in Vallejo to get some "fresh" water for his Minnows.   Knowing that I need some water therapy, he suggested to bring the kayaks along and fish for a couple hours.  I went back home and got my drysuit (it's raining) and we got to the lake around 2:30pm.  It's kind of windy and raining on & off but we're happy to be on the water!  I C&R a fatty LMB which is a success for me on this "1 fish lake" but unfortunately Dave got skunked.  We  got back to the launch only to find out the gates were closed so we had to find an alternate path to get out of the park. :smt003  Since I wasn't planning to fish today I did not bring my camera but Dave took some pictures with his phone and emailed them to me.  Thank you Dave for being a good friend and fishing partner!

Hi Sonny - Water therapy is just as good as fishing.  Brings peace and relaxes your mind and body.  Looks like a great trip just to get outside the house and enjoy fresh air.

Nice LMB Sonny.  I need to get on the water too but first I have to get over the cold my son has passed around to the family and friends.  May be next week?  I'm afraid if I went out now, I would cough myself into the water and create a total yard sale.  You guys did great, turning a cold rainy day into a fishing day!

What were you using for bait or lure?  Wondering what the one fish was eating?  Great shot, getting out on the water is always good.  Thanks for the report.

Yes, that's the one.   They just stocked this lake with trouts for the upcoming derby for kids.   You need to stop by the Vallejo Recreational Center to apply for a free permit to launch the kayak there.

We use Dave's left over minnows which he "raises" in his back yard.   For trouts in this lake, most people caught them using power baits but I caught 1 on minnow in the past.

Rest well my friend and be ready for the LS' clamming soon...

Thank you Sonny, I was in dire need of some hydro therapy. I was and still is super bummed having that tap break inside the MH's head on Tue. Damn exhaust manifold bolts. I'll deal with it some how. Enjoyed the Lee's sandwitch and OTW @ our local pond. We both needed the break.

Nice fish.  Way to get out on the water even in the rain!
