I dropped mine recently and it shattered into pieces :smt011 Went to Sports Authority and found this gem  :smt007

May need to get another one for my fresh water tackle  :smt045

Comes in 3 compartments -
- The top/first compartment houses all my terminal tackle (hooks,swivels...ect.)
- the second one carries all my lures
- the third, misc. stuff - tools, extra line spool, dirty magazines :smt002

*wish it came with a shoulder sling  :smt012

just an FYI,  I don't carry this on my yak. I use the plano dry box as well.

I use a Plano 1612 (orange one) for the kayak. I also have about 30 of the prolatch boxes that fit inside it for tackle. If I go out and shore fish I just throw the appropriate prolatch(s) in a bag or backpack. I like everything to be modular.

I only have about 8 of the tackle trays, but I do the same as Ryan and have a soft bag that holds 4-5 of them that I take on trips & PB's. Most of the time I have 1 or 2 (1 for lures, 1 for bait /sabiki stuff) trays in my plano for kayaking.

I like the clear sides of your new box Mooch. Being able to locate stuff without digging is key.

I use the round center hatch one for Hobies....One for RF and one for "Bait"  (Halibut, stripers, etc). The only time toss a plano tray into the yak is for LMB and Trout but I only fish those a few times per yr. I also scored some of the soft "binders" for my plastics. One for RF one for LMB.

:smt044 I didn't intend to denigrate the new acquisition.  Nice TACKLE SYSTEM Mooch, and I like that the bobbers look like a muppet is hiding in the bottom compartment!

Plano prolatch boxes are tackle boxes (just very simplified) that I use for my tackle system.

I use the Plano 6101.  It fits like it was made for the spot behind the seat of my T15.  However, I only use the Plano box if I'm targeting something that takes a lot of tackle.  For me that would be fish like bass or trout.  But if I'm fishing for something where I'll be using the same kinda stuff all day, like if I'm sitting around waiting for a sturgeon, I'll bring one of these.  http://www.harborfreight.com/18-divider-storage-container-94456.html  You can remove the dividers as you please, to accommodate the size you need in the box.  When I throw plugs for stripers, I usually only bring 3-6 different plugs.  So the little divider box works fine for me for a delta striper trip.
I also like to think that by keeping it small, if I lose it, I wont lose as much as if I had brought a bigger box.

Are you hinting that the white stuff on your yak wasn't fish poop?  :smt003  :smt002

I keep a bunch of plano multi compartment adjustable 10x12 tackle trays.  seems to work okay.  Then I keep a smal box and thro stuff in depending on what I am going after.
